Fabio Porta

Former member of the XVI legislature.

Graduated in Economic Sociology; from 1982 to1986 is the National Secretary of the Students’ Movement of Azione Cattolica Italiana.

He works in the political and trade union UIL (Italian Labour Union), dealing with international agreements on social security in patronage ITAL, and the projects of development cooperation in the ngo “Project South”.

He has been the Director of the School of Political Education of the Cultural Center “W. Tobagi “in Rome and Professor of Sociology of Communication at the Università Popolare di Roma (UPTER).

In 1994 he took interest in the relations between Italy and Latin America as a project leader in a training program for trade unions, coordinating various cooperation projects and training in Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay.

Since 1998 he moved to Brazil, in Sao Paulo, to direct and coordinate the patronage ITAL, the UIM (Union of Italians in the World), the CAAF (Tax Assistance Centre), the NGO “Project South” (international projects of social and economic cooperation) and the Institute of Training “Armando Suffredini”.

In 1999 he was appointed Technical Adviser of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Sao Paulo.
